The clients of this apartment — a young married couple with children — fully entrusted the taste and experience of Alta Idea Design Studio and commissioned them to design an ergonomic living space that would remain relevant for many years to come. The chosen concept combines neoclassicism with elements of Art Deco. This approach made the space come alive with vibrant colours, proving that a modern interior can be not only elegant or practical but also timeless.
The hallway invites you into the main area of the flat, where the convenience for both residents and guests becomes immediately apparent. Next to the entrance is a cloakroom for outerwear. Furniture veneered with American walnut looks refined, while the original pouffes upholstered in custom monochrome striped fabric serve as decorative accents.
From the corridor, the interiors of the kitchen-dining area and living room are already visible. While each space has its own charm, the carefully selected elements connect them into a cohesive composition.
Though compact, the kitchen is highly functional. A kitchen island separates the working area from the dining zone. Built-in appliances required a slight reduction of the living room area, but this design decision allowed for increased storage space for kitchen essentials.
The dining table was custom-made. The base of the table, along with the legs of the chairs, is finished in bronze, visually echoing other accents throughout the interior. The dining chairs themselves are also unique — the Lea model by Midj was reimagined for this project with fabric featuring a geometric pattern.
The focal point of the living room is a bright sofa that contrasts with a white wall adorned with handcrafted plaster mouldings, designed especially for this project by designer Yuliia Baidyk.
The private zone of the flat continues the theme of refined elegance. The master bedroom features light tones with terracotta accents in the curtains and bench. The olive-toned bed looks especially cosy against this backdrop. A decorative panel above the headboard adds airiness to the room. It is equipped with a built-in wardrobe and complemented by a vanity table with a green pouf, mirror, and original lighting fixtures.
The en-suite bathroom is finished with tiles from two different manufacturers that harmoniously come together in a single composition. Bronze fittings and sanitaryware complete the image — interiors of this calibre remain timeless for decades.
The children's rooms are located nearby and represent a true embodiment of childhood fantasy. In the boy’s room, the key feature is a wall panel with clouds and a whale that seems to float among ships. The girl’s room is even more airy: pink clouds, birds on the wallpaper, and playful fringe on the wall sconce. A separate bathroom for the children features terracotta shower walls, echoed in the whimsical fish depicted in a mysterious wall panel.
Thus, it is from such details, unique touches, and carefully considered solutions that this cohesive interior emerges — one that radiates comfort, beauty, and functionality.
